Fyfe Welding Services was established in 1989 by the current Managing Director, Derek Fyfe. The Company provides a specialised service to the building industry, namely the supply, fabrication and erection of structural steelwork and architectural metalwork.

Derek Fyfe was apprenticed as a blacksmith / welder, and for many years worked in shipyards, oil-rigs and rig yards, both in the UK and abroad; initially as a welder, then as a welder foreman and finally as a welding inspector. In 1989 Derek set up Fyfe Welding Services Ltd to capitalise on his experience of twenty-five years in "steel fabrication".

Fyfe Welding Services Ltd major contracts are with large construction companies. It has built up solid foundations based on a selected client list, customer confidence and a reputation for quality service. The Company has experienced steady growth and as a result of this growth moved to their new purpose built premises in Bonnyrigg in December 2001.
